This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of January 2023 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by legitimacy status, place type and attendant- at-birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication. Births in Cavite Table 1 shows that there were 5,341 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of January 2023. Male births accounted for 50.8% or 2,711 of the total births while female births accounted for 49.2% or 2,630. Males were higher by 81 than females. Three (3) cities and seven (7) municipalities recorded more female births than male births. These were as follows: City of General Trias, Tagaytay City, and Trece Martires City and municipalities of Amadeo, Indang, Kawit, Maragondon, Noveleta, Rosario and Tanza. The same number of male and female births were registered in the municipalities of General Emilio Aguinaldo and Ternate. The City of Dasmariñas had the highest registered live births in the province with 935 births composed of 495 males and 440 females. This was followed by City of Bacoor and Trece Martires City with 793 and 613 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with 18, followed by Alfonso, Amadeo and Magallanes; all with 21 live births. Table 2 shows that 78.0% or 4,165 were timely registered and 22.0% or 1, 176 were late registered. Timely registered births were higher by 2,989 compared to late registered births. Majority were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. Carmona had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 89.2% or 74 out of 83 total registered births, followed by Tagaytay City with 85.1% or 80 out of 94 total registered births and City of Dasmariñas with 83.9% or 784 out of 935. Alfonso had the highest percentage of late registered births with 57.1% or 12 out of 21 registered births, followed by Kawit with 51.3% or 82 out of 160 registered births and Rosario with 41.3% or 31 out of 75 registered births. Figure 1 shows that 3,681 or 68.9% were non-marital births or babies born out-of-wedlock and 1,660 or 31.1% were marital births. Non-marital births were higher by 2,021. Figure 2 shows that babies born in Health Facility had a total of 4,544, of which 2,331 were males and 2,213 were females. Babies born at Home had a total of 790, comprised of 378 males and 412 females. The remaining seven (7) births of which two (2) were males and five (5) were females had no place type of occurrence stated on the birth certificate. Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were attended by Physician with a total of 2,681 of which 1,388 were males and 1,293 were females, followed by Midwife with 1,848 composed of 928 males and 920 females and Unlicensed Midwife with 613 composed of 290 male births and 323 female births. Nurse had attended a total of 176 of which 96 were male births and 80 were female births. Others had 23 birth deliveries composed of 9 males and 14 females. Summary A total of 5,314 live births were registered on the month of January 2023 in the Province of Cavite. Male births were predominant in most cities/municipalities. Males outnumbered females by 81. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Dasmariñas with 935 and the least came from Ternate with 18 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more non-marital births compared to marital births. Health Facility was the most common place type for birth deliveries and Physician was the most common attendant-at-birth.
