In celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month, PSA Batangas conducted an Oratorical Contest on 29 October 2024 at the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs, (PTCAO) Provincial Capitol, Batangas City.
The program started at 9 ‘0’ clock in the morning with the welcome remarks of CSS Raul Maximo Tolentino. Sixteen senior students from public and private schools in the province vied to win the contest. They were assisted by their acting coaches. Each contestant was given a five- minute time- limit English speech based on the NSM theme, “Advancing Data and Statistics through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation”. Also, they have a three- minute video self -introduction.
The winners in the contest were, third place went to Mia Jasmine R. Pantoja of Alangilan Senior High School, second place Edrielle R. Cueto of St. Bridget College -Batangas, and first place Jemmalou S. Fernandez of Batangas City Integrated High School. Their oratorical powers were unsurpassed among their contemporaries. CSS Tolentino, SSII Ma. Lourdes Harina and SA Jeanette Dimaculangan handed down a Certificate of Recognition, token, and prizes to the winners.
The award for the oratorical contest was made by a jury of three government professionals namely, Raquel Muñoz, Assistant City Civil Registrar of Local Civil Registry Office-Batangas City, Charity O. Bautista, PSA -RSSOIV-A -OIC SOCD and Felipe M. Baroja, Executive Assistant, Provincial Government -Batangas. Photo-op with the winners and coaches followed.
