Meanwhile, among the older age group (55 years and over), females (12.1%) outnumbered the males (10.0%). In 2015, the same trend was seen.   Sex ratio stands at 102 males per 100 females   The sex ratio in the province was computed at 102 in 2020. This means that there were 102 males for every 100 females. This is higher compared to the sex ratio (100.3) recorded in 2015.   In 2020, children aged below 15 years old had sex ratio of 107 males per 100 females, while those aged 15 to 64 years had a sex ratio of 102 males per 100 females. Moreover, among those aged 65 years and over, the sex ratio was 71 males per 100 females. This depicts a longer life expectancy among females than males or a higher mortality rate among males than females in the older age groups.   Figure 2: Sex Ratio by Selected Age Group: Rizal, 2020 Source: Philippine Statistics Authority, 2020 Census of Population and Housing   Median age increases to 26 years   The median age of Rizal’s population was computed 26 years, which means that half of the household population was younger than 26 years, while the other half was older than 26 years. (Figure 3)   Figure 3: Median Age of the household population: Rizal, 2020 Sources: Philippine Statistics Authority, 2020 Census of Population and Housing and 2015 Census of Population   Dependency ratio remains at 52 dependents per 100 persons in the working-age group   The overall dependency ratio of the province was computed at 52, which indicates that for every 100 working-age or economically-active population, there were about 52 dependents (45 young dependents and 7 old dependents).     There are more male than female children under five years old   Children below five years old comprised 10.0 percent (332,880) of the household population which is slightly lower than 10.5 percent (302,193) posted in 2015. The sex ratio was computed at 106 males per 100 females.
