On July 6 and 7, the 2023 CALABARZON Regional Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (RCCRVS) with the theme: “Providing Efficient Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation” was conducted at Limapark Hotel, Malvar, Batangas.    The activity is the result of the collaborative effort of Philippine Statistics Authority Region 4A and Philippine Association of Civil Registrars Region 4A. It aims to improve the efficiency of the delivery of civil registration services in CALABARZON Region as it has also been identified as one of the key strategies to attain the goals of the CRVS Decade 2015-2024. The convention was attended by the officials and personnel from the Local Civil Registry Offices in the Region. During the two-day convention, the participants were given the chance to raise their concerns, questions, and clarifications in relation to the topics discussed by the resource speakers from the PSA Central Office.                                              Moreover, Philippine Statistics Authority National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Regional Development Council (RDC) Chairperson and Batangas Province Governor Hermilando “Dodo” I. Mandanas,                  Lipa City Mayor Eric B. Africa, and Malvar Municipal Mayor Cristeta Cuevas-Reyes were also present during the opening ceremony. In his keynote message, Usec. Mapa reminded everyone that they should use their “UP” or their “Utak” (intelligence) and “Puso” (be compassionate) when serving the people and when dealing with their clients’ concerns.   The last part of the convention includes the awarding of the 2021 Outstanding Local Civil Registration Offices (LCROs) in the Region. The LCROs were divided into six (6) categories: Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and Super Extra Large.
