CALABARZON’s Economy Grows by 4.8 Percent

The economy of CALABARZON grew by 4.8 percent in 2016, lower than its 5.8 percent growth in 2015. The deceleration was due to the slower growth of Industry, particularly Manufacturing and Construction.
 
Industry sustained its largest share to the region’s economy at 61.4 percent.  Services and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (AHFF) had shares of 33.2 and 5.5 percent, respectively.
 

CALABARZON’s Economy Expands in 2015

The economy of CALABARZON accelerated from 5.1 percent in 2014 to 5.9 percent in 2015. The higher growth was attributed to the improved performance of Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (AHFF) and Services.
 
Industry continued to account for the largest share of the region’s economy at 61.8 percent in 2015. Services and AHFF had shares of 32.6 and 5.5 percent, respectively.
 

Industry Sector Still Drives the Growth in CALABARZON’s Economy

The economy of CALABARZON grew by 5.1 percent in 2014, albeit at a slower pace compared to its 6.7 percent growth in 2013. The Industry sector contributed much to the growth in the economy of the region. Industry continued to contribute the largest share of the region’s total output with a share of 62.1 percent in 2014, slightly higher than its 61.3 percent share in 2013. It was followed by Services which accounted for 32.2 percent and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (AHFF) with a share of 5.7 percent.
